Visual Basic 6 आज तक की सबसे सरल Destkop Programming Language रही है, जिसके माध्यम से आप कम से कम Codes द्वारा Visual Studio का प्रयोग करते हुए काफी तेज गति से Professional Level Desktop Applications Develop कर सकते हैं। हालांकि Visual Basic 6 अब पूरी तरह से बन्द हो चुका है और Microsoft ने इसके अगले Version के रूप में इसे Visual Basic .NET के रूप में विकसित कर दिया है, लेकिन फिर भी अभी भी इसे विभिन्न Universities के Syllabus में पढाया जाता है।
क्योंकि ये बहुत ही सरल Visual Programming Language है, जिसका प्रयोग करते हुए बडी ही आसानी से Event Driven Programming Concepts को सीखा व समझा जा सकता है तथा इस ज्ञान को VB.NET के साथ प्रयोग करते हुए High Quality Desktop Application Develop किया जा सकता है।
हालांकि VB.NET, VB6 का Next Version है, जिसका Development Approach काफी Advance व Object Oriented है, लेकिन फिर भी Windows का Desktop Application Development Approach व Event Driven Programming Concepts ज्यों का त्यों हैं।
